Sam Allardyce was back at work and happy with a point for his Blackburn Rovers side against Liverpool, but rued missed chances that could have seen his side take all three.

"I'm delighted with a point, and I'm delighted with another clean sheet from our point of view," said Allardyce, who was at his first game since undergoing heart surgery.

He did though admit that the dressing room was very dissapointed following Nikola Kalinic's late miss.

"Niko had the chance to, even with all the chances we had before he had the chance to get the three points and put the ball in the back of the net...it was a golden chance that unfortunately he missed."

After an energy-sapping encounter in midweek when Rovers stunned Chelsea to book to Carling Cup semi-final spot, Allardyce was quick to praise the fitness of his players.

"Our lads looked extremely fit, a lot of those lads played 120 minutes midweek and Liverpool didn't have a game," he said.

This helped his side restrict the visitors to very few chances, with Allardyce delighted Liverpool were only able to create one clear-cut effort on goal.

"Three clean sheets in the last four games is what's going to win us more games than we draw," he added.

A stat that Allardyce is hoping will continue, so his side can begin to turn the draws into wins.
