JOHN Coleman paid tribute to goalscorers Billy Kee and Michael Symes after Accrington won 2-0 at Burton Albion last night despite being without key man Bobby Grant.
A one-match ban for 10-goal Grant meant Kee was handed a rare start and he was on target as Stanley climbed a place to 16th in League Two.
Coleman said: “I think the way Bobby’s been playing you’re always going to miss him but Billy has been waiting patiently for his chance and we have got a bit of strength in depth now.
“That goal can only give him confidence. He worked really hard, supported by Michael Symes, who was magnificent after a poor first 20 minutes.
“It wasn’t comfortable for us in the first 20 minutes but we rode our luck and changed our formation.
“From then on I think we controlled the game.”
