ACCRINGTON Stanley have held preliminary talks with management duo John Coleman and Jimmy Bell about extending the pair’s contracts until at least 2011.
Coleman and assistant Bell have been in charge of Stanley for more than 10 seasons, lifting the club from the UniBond First Division to League Two, and verbally agreed a new 12-month rolling deal in the summer.
No contract was ever formally signed but Ilyas Khan made an extended deal for the duo a priority when he took over as non-executive chairman at the start of November, and it nows seem that they will sign until either the summer of 2011 or possibly 2012.
Stanley managing director Dave O’Neill said: “It’s up to them because they’ll have to agree to it, but we’ll probably look to put an 18-month deal in place.
“Hopefully by the end of December we’ll have the paperwork there that they can sign, which is a positive thing.”
