CHRISTIAN Vieri's Blackburn Rovers trial has been extended after an impressive showing at their Austrian training camp.
The former Italian international will meet up again with Sam Allardyce's squad for their tour of Italy and Croatia, starting on Wednesday, before returning to East Lancashire with the squad.
Rovers boss Allardyce admits the 36-year-old is still some way off Premier League fitness but is prepared to be patient in a bid to help him revive his career.
Vieri is believed to be hungry to play in the Premier League for the first time, having persisted in his bid to earn a trial with Rovers despite the club’s initial reluctance to invite him to their Austrian training camp.
