EX-LANCASHIRE man Graham Lloyd dug Accrington out of a deep hole against Colne as they maintained their lead at the top of the Lancashire League on Sunday.
Lloyd made 53, while sub professional Anil Rideegammanagedera, filling in for the injured Roy Silva, hit 81 as Accrington recovered from 18-4 to reach a testing 196-8.
Colne were never at the races as they replied and were reduced to 58-5 and then 100-8 before Ryan Procter made 44. But they were bowled out for 142 with Paul Carroll claiming 6-30.
Accrington’s form in the Lancashire League is in stark contrast to that in the 20/20 comptetition.
Their defeat to Enfield in the last group game on Friday night was their 13th on the trot in the short form game.
Their last win in the competition came in 2006.
