BLACKBURN Rovers have made their second signing in the space of 24 hours after completing a deal to bring in Amiens midfielder Steven N'Zonzi.

The 20-year-old has penned a four-year contract at Ewood Park, with Rovers thought to have paid an initial fee of around £400,000 for the Frenchman.

N’Zonzi is confident he is up to the challenge of making the grade in the Barclays Premier League.

Although N’Zonzi represented France at youth team level he only made his professional debut in April 2008.

He played 35 times last season as his club were relegated from Ligue 2 but he is determined to be a success in England.

”It is a big move for me and I am really pleased to have done it with Blackburn,” he said.

”It is true it will be a big difference as I am used to playing in the championship in France but I am young and I am here to learn.

”I really want to do the best to improve my game, training every day with experienced players and give my best for the new challenge.

”It is a big challenge and I want to succeed. I am sure the coach and the staff will help me to become a good player.”

N’Zonzi is Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce’s fourth signing of the summer, following former Everton defender Lars Jacobsen and South Africa midfielder Elrio van Heerden to Ewood Park after Gael Givet made his loan deal permanent.

The youngster, who has been likened to former France and Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, is grateful to be given his chance by Allardyce.

”Every week in France we watch the Premier league, it is the top league in the world,” he told Rovers World.

”It is a privilege for me to be here and this is a dream come true.

”I can learn every day in training and become, as soon as possible, an ‘English player’.

”My ambition is to play as much as possible and be as successful as possible.

”I am really excited to start the new season with a new club. I am looking forward to meeting my new team-mates.”
