Chorley amateur Michael Hearn has been placed on the reserve list for the Open Championship’s local final qualifying event.
Hearn posted a round of 72 at regional qualifying at Mere Golf Club but was beaten in a play-off as he attempted to move to the next phase.
He has now been placed as 41st reserve for local final qualifying, which takes place in Scotland on July 6 and 7.
Accrington’s Mark Harlington missed out on qualifying with a 73, while Blackburn’s Mark McEvoy went round in 83 at regional qualification at Alwoodley.
Pleasington amateur Neil Hargreaves is 13th reserve in final qualifying after missing out at his home course.
