STUNNING Accrington rocked their derby and title rivals Enfield on Saturday - despite being skittled themselves.

The reigning champions and current Lancashire League leaders were knocked over for just 125 in the clash between first and second as Enfield sub-pro Steffan Jones was in simply sensational form in the Thorneyholme Road derby date.

The Somerset seamer, filling in for regular Enfield pro Gary Brent, who had work commitments at Rugby School, claimed 9-48 as Accrington seemed to be heading for defeat. It would have been worse had Roy Silva not made 42 and Stuart Crabtree 29 - and those contributions proved crucial as the Enfield top order folded.

But Adam Bracewell and Joe Wrigley repaired the early damage and took their side past 50.

In fact, they were 54-3 only to collapse to 59 all out as home skipper David Ormerod claimed 4-18 from 17.5 overs on a remarkable day.

Tod captain Jon Henderson hit 30 as his side replied - but Kelly became the hero with the ball to claim 3-33, while East Lancs’ pro Brendan Nash claimed 3-41.

In the end, James Morgan was run out with the scores level to mean the tie.
