TONIGHT’S Lancashire League 20/20 derby between Haslingden and Rawtenstall has been postponed.
The game, scheduled for Bacup Road, would have been the first of a weekend trilogy of Rossendale Valley debies - but it has clashed with a Rawtenstall fund-raising event and could not be re-arranged.
“Rawtenstall were in contact and asked us to switch the game and they wanted to try to play it on Thursday but we couldn’t do that because of the short notice,” said Haslingden skipper Graham Knowles.
“It hasn’t been able to be switched and that is a shame.”
While that game has fallen victim, there is plenty more action with Church and Rishton meeting in Group A, while Accrington look for their first win in the competition against East Lancs.
There is a Pendle derby at the Horsfield as Nelson travel to Colne, while Lowerhouse had engaged Will Driver as sub pro for their trip to Todmorden. But he has now been pulled out of the tie.
And in Group B, Edenfield travel down the M66 to Ramsbottom.
Tonight’s fixtures Lancashire League 20/20 Group A Church v Rishton, East Lancashire v Accrington Group B Ramsbottom v Edenfield Group C Todmorden v Lowerhouse, Colne v Nelson THERE is also 20/20 action in the Ribblesdale League competition this evening with the Whalley Road clash between Read and Baxenden the pick of the bunch.
Tonight’s fixtures Barnoldswick v Earby, Settle v Clitheroe, Gt Harwood v Salesbury, Read v Baxenden.
