A GROUP of youths has raised more than £100 for charity by holding a fun day to celebrate Burnley FC’s play-off success.
Young people from the Daneshouse and Duke Bar-based Burnley Youth Volunteers Forum raised £145 for Pendleside Hospice, Colne Road, Reedley.
The money will help the hospice provide care to local people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Annual running costs exceed £2.85million, of which, more than £2million has to be raised from fundraising and donations.
Fundraising manager Kaye Bartle said: “We are delighted that these young people have decided to give up their time to raise money for the hospice and applaud their efforts and initiative.”
The group hopes to hold further fundraising events in aid of the hospice.
