CLARETS fans are on course to become a top 10 private shareholder in the Turf Moor outfit, a supporters trust AGM has been told.
Former Burnley MP Peter Pike, the chairman of the Clarets Trust, says the organisation now has 89 shares, making it currently the 12th largest shareholder not on the board.
Mr Pike said: “Our aim remains to take that figure up to at least the 100 share mark and put us in the top 10.
“The increase in shares we bought during the last year went specifically to improve the accommodation for the disabled supporters.
“We are pleased, and proud, to have paid part of this cost and enable this work to have taken place.”
Plans are also being formulated, via a bid to the town’s Stocks Massey Fund, to produce a series of display boards detailing Burnley FC’s history.
The trust also intend to continue sponsorship of rising star Jay Rodriguez for the forthcoming season.
Another beer festival is being planned by the trust at the Bridge Inn for later in the year and new members are being sought.
