TODMORDEN booked their place in the last four of the Worsley Cup as they beat Enfield by one run in a thriller at Centre Vale.
After batting first and posting 250-8, Todmorden were hot favourites to ease into the semi-finals as they soaked up the sun.
But Enfield staged a remarkable chase only to fall that one run short of a memorable success.
Simon Newbitt was the mainstay of the Todmorden innings as he hit one six and seven fours in his 52, while Andrew Sutcliffe (44) and Nick Barker (43) in that mammoth score.
However, Enfield put up a real fight as substitute professional Theo Doropoulos and Adam Bracewell put on 111 for the fourth wicket .
They needed three off the final ball - but made only one.
