GORDON Strachan is highly unlikely to be in the running for the Blackburn Rovers job, according to the Daily Record’s Celtic reporter.
Strachan was recently linked with the Sunderland job and walked out of a Press conference when questioned about links to the Wearside vacancy.
But only the Premier League’s most high-profile jobs are likely to tempt him away from Celtic Park and Strachan has not featured as highly in betting lists for the Ewood job.
The only thing likely to change Strachan's desire to stay at Celtic is the ongoing row with fans’ favourite Aiden McGeady, who was suspended by the Bhoys this afternoon after an argument with his manager following Saturday’s draw at Hearts.
But Jim Traynor, who reports on Celtic for the Daily Record newspaper, does not expect Strachan to be in the running.
He said: “Gordon said a few weeks ago that he is happy at Celtic and he has no plans to go anywhere.
“He walked out of the Press conference when he was asked about Sunderland, because he asked beforehand that no-one brought it up and someone did bring it up. But it’s not the first time he’s done that.
“He could win four titles in a row with Celtic because they are four points clear with the Old Firm game a week on Saturday.
“Celtic are still a huge club and I’m not sure Blackburn could tempt him.
“The McGeady situation could change things if the fans take McGeady’s side, which they may well do.
“But I’m not sure that Blackburn is the club for him, or Sunderland either.”
