ACCRINGTON Stanley's home match against Brentford has been postponed this morning because of a frozen pitch.
The match, which also had to be postponed once last season, had been due to take place tomorrow afternoon but a pitch inspection was held this morning to avoid Stanley having to pay Brentford's travel expenses.
A combination of rain, snow and several nights of freezing temperatures has left the pitch at the Fraser Eagle Stadium in an unplayable state.
A date for the rearranged game will be announced shortly.
Stanley, currently 16th in League Two, had been looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s home defeat to Bury against Andy Scott’s Brentford outfit, who are seventh but were knocked out of the FA Cup by non-league Barrow seven days ago.
A number of draws mean the Reds have won only one of their last eight games.
