ADE Akinbiyi grew up supporting Arsenal, but would love to be the man to knock them out of the Carling Cup.
The Burnley striker came off the bench to equalise at Chelsea in the last round, taking the tie into extra time and a subsequent penalty shoot-out which the Clarets won 5-4.
And he admitted he would love a repeat performance tonight.
“It would be nice,” he said. “But even if we just go through it doesn’t matter who scores.”
Arsene Wenger’s young guns didn’t concede a goal in their previous two rounds to demolish Sheffield United 6-0 and Wigan Athletic 3-0.
But Akinbiyi warned they shouldn’t take anything for granted against the confident Clarets, 11 months after the two teams met in the FA Cup third round.
“They are probably the best young kids that most people have seen,” he said. “But they are not going to like coming to Turf Moor on a cold Tuesday night.
“We’ve come this far we have nothing to lose, and everyone FROM BACK PAGE has confidence in themselves.
“When we went to Chelsea we didn’t lie back and we’re not going to do that against Arsenal.”
And looking forward to a sell-out home crowd he added: “We’ve just got to go out there and play our game, get a big support behind us and see what happens.”
