COLNE hosted the Vodkat Premier Division’s second-placed club and came within a minute of taking all three points.
On 20 minutes the Colne defence was caught out by a ball over the top from the left, leaving Matt Smith an easy chance to rifle his shot into the far corner.
At the interval Colne manager Nigel Coates urged his troops to raise their game and his harsh words did not go unheeded because Colne looked a different team after the restart.
Just five minutes into the half Colne were back on level terms when Hargreaves’ cross to Garbutt was volleyed home into the bottom corner.
Colne then deservedly took the lead on the hour thanks to a superb lob from Garbutt into the top corner.
However, with just one minute of normal time remaining, Mann was helpless to prevent a towering header by Smith from Steve Moore’s cross.
