BLACKBURN Rovers have reduced their match-day ticket prices from Monday following the government’s decision to lower the rate of VAT.
Managing Director Tom Finn said: “While our prices are already the most competitive in the Premier League, it would only be right for the club to pass on the VAT reduction.
“We have also rounded down the prices to the nearest 5p in all cases.”
With effect from the Stoke City game on December 20, an adult matchday ticket will cost just £16.60 in the Fraser Eagle Stand and £24.45 in the Walkersteel Blackburn End.
Half-season ticket prices will also be reduced from Monday.
Mr Finn added: “We have a particular difficulty with the Liverpool game (on December 6) given that tickets have been sold at the pre-VAT reduction price, including the whole of the Liverpool allocation.
“We feel it would be inequitable for fans attending the match to pay different prices from each other, but similarly feel it would be wrong to be seen to be profiteering from the VAT reduction.
“The prices for the Liverpool game will therefore remain at the pre-December 1 tariff.
“However, we will calculate the discounted VAT element on any tickets sold after this date and donate this sum to a worthy charity.”
The club can also confirm that all prices in the Roverstore will be reduced to take account of the lower rate of VAT with effect from next Monday.
