NORWEGIAN international Tore Reginiussen has issued Blackburn Rovers a ‘now or never’ ultimatum after turning down a chance to extend his Ewood Park trial.

The young Scandinavian defen-der arrived in East Lancashire at the weekend but has declined the option of another fortnight at Rovers, insisting the club have seen enough to make their decision.

Reginiussen is expected to return to Norway today, before jetting of on holiday to Dubai, and warns a host of top European clubs are chasing his signature should Rovers delay.

Paul Ince was believed to be impressed by the Tromso defender’s initial impact at Ewood but, after just a few days of training, would be unwilling to commit valuable transfer funds without more evidence of his talents.

Reginiussen, said: “The stay here has been really good, and I think I've showed them in a good fashion what I am capable of.

“I've told them that I need some time off after a really long season, and therefore I'll take a vacation now. This means that Blackburn need to take a decision now.

“It’s not an option for me to stay here for two more weeks so they can be convinced that I'm good enough. They must rather say now if they are interested or not.”

The 22-year-old has already made four senior appearances for Norway having been voted player of the season at Tromso last season.

It is understood his transfer would cost Rovers in the region of £1.5million but, with his deal unable to go through until January, Rovers will be wary of rushing any decision.

The defender stayed at compatriots Morten Gamst Pedersen’s during his stay in Lancashire, with the Rovers midfielder hailing his potential earlier this week.

Pedersen said: “Paul Ince was wondering if I knew about some good players. When I mentioned Tore. I have said to Blackburn that he is a good player,”

“He is a good player. That is why he is here. Tore is a good, big and strong and he received good feedback.”
