BURNLEY manager Owen Coyle has told clubs trying to take young striker Alex MacDonald on loan that they are wasting their time.

The Scotland Under 19 international has been targeted by a number of managers, with Notts County’s Ian McParland believed to be one of those interested in the 18-year-old.

But Coyle insists the teenage terrier is going nowhere.

“He’s improving no end, he has a role to play at the club and we feel his development would be better served with us at the moment,” said the Burnley boss.

“A couple of clubs have asked about Alex but he won’t be going anywhere on loan.”
