AFC Liverpool might be the high-profile club in this season’s Vodkat League – but Padiham are fast becoming one of the toughest sides to beat in the league, highlighted by their stunning victory on Merseyside.
Every department of the Padiham side contributed to victory, with Sean Davis’ two first-half saves equally as important as Paul Fildes’ second-half hat-trick.
Both sides had to replace their goalkeepers during the game due to injuries and both sides had efforts crash against the crossbar.
But in the end, it was Fildes’ clinical finishing that secured the points for the Storks.
Strikes in the 46th, 57th and 88th ensured Padiham jumped to second and moved to within a point of leaders Liverpool with a game in hand on the Merseysiders.
