PAUL Ince has backed a devastated Martin Olsson to bounce back “bigger and stronger” from his Spurs nightmare after his Rovers side stayed in the Premier League relegation zone.
The young Swede gifted the hosts their winning goal, scored by Roman Pavlyuchenko, before getting sent off on 38 minutes for a number of rash challenges on the flying Aaron Lennon.
Ince though insists Rovers can take heart from a battling display and insists Olsson will not be used as a scapegoat for another hard-to-take 1-0 defeat.
He said: “The first one is not a booking. With Lennon’s pace he over-exaggerates the fall. I don’t think Martin made contact.
“The second one because he gave the goal away, he felt he had to do something about the game and through exuberance you can understand that.
“He is devastated. He is a very good player and will learn from the experience.
"We all make mistakes, he will learn and come back better and stronger.”
