OWEN Coyle does not regard Burnley’s Turf Moor clash with Doncaster tomorrow as a homecoming but hopes to give the Clarets fans something to shout about in the Championship encounter.
The Doncaster match is Burnley’s first home game since their incredible Carling Cup win at Chelsea but Coyle is focused on nothing else than earning three vital league points tomorrow.
“It’s not the chance for the fans to give us any ovation and we’re not looking for any ovation,” he said.
“We’re just looking for the same support that the fans have given. If they keep giving us support, hopefully we can give them something to shout about. It’s very much two-fold.
“The fans were magnificent at Chelsea. There were over 6,000 fans and I think they were there forever, for the whole night.
“The players got their just rewards on that night and they got what they were due from the fans.
“They had it before the game because of the number that turned out to support them and the finance they committed to doing that.
“All we’re looking for is for them to keep coming to support us and hopefully we can give them something to shout about.”
