COLNE progressed to the second round of the Lancashire FA Co-Operative Challenge Trophy with a win over Nelson.
Colne made it through thanks to a disputed penalty with the last kick of the game to earn a difficult away tie against UniBond League side Lancaster City in the first week of December.
On 22 minutes, Nelson took the lead as Sam Heap’s shot was deflected past James Mann.
With five minutes left, Nelson’s Alex Muggan had a chance to seal the game, but somehow put his shot wide.
The real drama was soon to follow as Colne turned the game on its head.
On 88 minutes, Ben Howarth equalised with a bullet header.
In the final minute, Garbutt was adjudged to have been brought down in the area and James Crorken blasted home the resulting spot-kick.
