BLACKBURN ROVERS’ Carling Cup quarter-final tie at Old Trafford will take place on December 3 – despite both Manchester teams being at home on the same night.
With Paul Ince’s men facing a long trip to Portsmouth the Sunday before, as well as United playing in the Manchester derby the same day, the match was scheduled for Wednesday, December 3.
The situation was complicated though by Manchester City’s UEFA Cup match against Paris St Germain the same evening, with local police preferring both clubs are not in home action at the same time.
But Greater Manchester Police agreed yesterday for the clash will go ahead as planned.
