Now Adam, 23, has posted his dad’s ordeal on YouTube, a move which has so far attracted more than 17,000 views.
Ken, of Middlesex Avenue, a Clarets fan for 56 years, said he has been left shocked that so many people have viewed the clip.
He said: “I knew nothing about it at the time but I have watched it a few times since.
“It is so funny and I have really been laughing about it.”
During the five-minute video, Ken is seen nervously striding around the kitchen and holding his head as Burnley players step up to take penalties.
Then, when Chelsea star John Obi Mikel misses the decisive spot kick, he erupts and runs to hug his son, who is covertly filming the action on his mobile phone.
Ken added: “He was filming it under his sleeve and I had no idea - you could not act that out.
“I was so wrapped up in the action I did not even know he was there.
“I didn’t know anything about it until the day after. He showed it me and then he stuck it on the internet.
“Apparently I am now in the top 50 most watched but I am not bothered at all. I am not embarrassed.”
Adam said: “He is like that all the time so I thought it would be funny to film. He loves the attention.”
