PAUL Ince has left the door open for a dream Rovers return for Matt Jansen – but warns don’t expect too much too soon.

Jansen’s attempted comeback was revealed in the Lancashire Telegraph on Saturday with Ince refusing to rule out one day seeing him in a Rovers shirt again.

Having not played a competitive game for almost three years though, Jansen has his work cut out to regain the form that once earned him England recognition.

Ince recognises there is a long road ahead and insists there will be no pressure piled on to the former Rovers striker over the next few months.

Ince said: “It is too early doors to predict what is going to happen.

"First and foremost, he has been out of the game for more than 18 months.

“I think then he felt he did not need football but he has since decided he wants another go to see if he something left to give.

“The Blackburn Rovers fans idolised him as a player and why not see if he can get himself fit and from there who knows?

“He is only 31 and who knows where this spell will take him? You can’t rule anything out or in.”

The ex Rovers ace resumed training at Ewood last week in a bid to have one last shot at a career that looked over after a near-fatal motorbike crash in 2002.

Several failed attempted returns have failed but Jansen looks determined to have one more go at resuming his career.
