COLNE’S resurrected junior section continues to flourish both on and off the pitch.
Under the guidance of Berni and Dalu Piliso and with the appointment of youth development officer Elaine Vassie, Colne have unearthed a group of talented teenagers.
And the emergence of such talent can only be a good thing for the future of the club. Bury struggled to contain the power and pace of Colne all over the pitch.
And first half tries for the All Blacks from M Tindall, J Sunderland and K Potts opened up a 15-10 lead at the break. In the second half a spirited Bury side struggled and further tries from Tindall (2), Nathan Taylforth (2), Jordan Sunderland and a second for Kurtis Potts gave Colne a well earned victory with Jack Wiper converting three.
A special mention must go to A Thompson, A Banks, Adeel, K Bolland and H Marsden who all played for Bury who had seven players on county duty.
