TWO goals for Michael Kightly and Clarke Carlisle's second-half red card completed a miserable afternoon for 10-man Burnley.
Dangerous wide man Kightly capitalised on Wolves' dominance just after the half-hour, when he scored from the rebound after hitting the post.
Karl Henry and Chris Iwelumo had gone close for the Championship leaders either side of the opener, but without really troubling Clarets' goalkeeper Brian Jensen.
Burnley improved in the second half and Chris Eagles fashioned their best chance with a long range effort that tested the otherwise untroubled Carl Ikeme soon after the restart.
Jay Rodriguez and Martin Paterson replaced Steven Thompson and Robbie Blake up front, but Owen Coyle's men never looked like extending their five-game unbeaten run.
Kightly secured the win with 15 minutes to go, before Carlisle saw red for a second bookable offence four minutes later, ruling him out of Wednesday's Carling Cup game at Chelsea.
