Cross set up opening goal, tackled well and got forward at every opportunity 8 Neil Cronshaw (left back) Stuck more to defensive duties but played some nice long range passes 7 Martin Carroll (centre back) Fell foul of a strict ref and shown a straight red for swearing after 10 minutes 5 Phil Liggins (centre back) Marshalled the rearguard superbly and never buckled when Welly piled on the pressure 7 Matt Martindale (right midfield) A real livewire throughout the game and opened the scoring with a neat finish 7 Jonathan Cleery (left midfield) Slotted in to the centre of defence after Carroll’s dismissal and did a sterling job 7 Tom Riley (centre midfield) Had a fair old tussle with Brown in the midfield engine room. Excellent pass set up the third goal 7 Ben Howarth (centre midfield) Well taken goal at the end rounded off an impressive display in midfield 7 JOHN HOWARTH (striker) Work-rate typified Boca performance when reduced to 10 men. Tackled like a demon, played some fine passes and took his goal well 8 Mick Berry (striker) A willing worker up front and on any other day would have bagged a hat-trick 6 Subs not used: Lee Hodgson, Shane Brown ************************************************************** WELLY CLAYTON - Manager: Mark Edwards Mark Highton (keeper) The busier of the two keepers made some decent saves but no chance with goals 6 Stuart McMillan (right back) Steady away display but did not venture foward often. Subbed after the break 6 Lee Abbott (left back) Another who stuck to his defensive duties against Boca’s slick attackers 6 Alex Rowan (centre back) One fine goalline clearance summed up a solid game in defence 7 Steven Mercer (centre back) Got stuck in, barked orders and took no prisoners 6 Steven Hayhurst (right midfield) Saw very little of the ball and starved of possession. Subbed soon after the restart 6 Ben Hargreaves (left midfield) Whipped in a few decent crosses but another who saw little action 6 Dan Brown (centre midfield) Went toe to toe with Riley in middle of the park in a fiery contest 7 John Hargreaves (centre midfield) Not afraid to put it about and never shirked a challenge although ultimately came out second best 7 Sam Dean (striker) Worked hard but wasteful up front although forced Fairy in to a flying save 6 Chris Clarkson (striker) Had to feed of scraps and constantly came looking for the ball 6 Subs Luke Conti (midfield) Added a bit more urgency down the flanks and played some telling crosses which could not be converted 7 Graham Draper (defence) Slotted in at right back and steady enough 6
