Ramsbottom battled back from the disappointment of Tuesday night’s defeat to Bacup Borough with a fine victory over Atherton at the Riverside.
Three second half strikes by striker Andy Sensale in the space of five minutes gave what looks like a comfortable victory.
The striker’s first goal came in the 71st minute, followed by further strikes on 73 and 76 minutes.
However, the Rams have on-loan keeper Danny English to thank for keeping Atherton at bay with some stunning saves.
