A TURNSTILE operator at Turf Moor has been reprimanded after he was caught letting his friends into the Reading game for less than half price.
Club officials became suspicious when takings were believed to be lower than expected on one of the gates in the James Hargreaves Stand.
Police were called in and it was discovered the gate operator had been allowing friends in for only £10.
The tickets for the upper block in the north stand cost £23.
Police believe the deception may have been carried out on a number of occasions.
Sgt Phil Carter, of Burnley Police, confirmed that an 18-year-old man had been questioned and issued with a caution for theft.
