COLNE boss Nigel Coates would give anything for a scrappy 1-0 win at home to Alsager Town tomorrow.
But if results this season are anything to go by then odds on such a scoreline appear to be pretty long.
The Holt House club have been involved in no fewer than 11 games where they have scored or conceded three or more goals – including last weekend’s 4-3 defeat at Glossop.
In contrast, they have kept just one clean sheet all season.
“Odds on a 1-0 win for us would be pretty long,” said Coates.
“I suppose it is good for the neutral to see all these goals flying in but it’s not good for us if we end up losing.
“We haven’t had problems scoring goals this season, the only problem is we keep letting them in.”
