TERRY Gornell is taking inspiration from Accrington Stanley’s win at Luton as the Reds prepare to face another side struggling at the wrong end of League Two tonight.

Sammy McIlroy’s Morecambe side are currently 20th in League Two - four places below Stanley – and have won only one of their 13 league games this season.

Stanley will be keen to take the chance to move away from any hint of relegation trouble, as they did when they won at bottom club Luton 10 days ago.

And the Reds, who lost 1-0 at home to Wycombe on Saturday, will travel to Christie Park having won their last three games against the Shrimps.

“Jimmy and the gaffer said we have got a good record against them,” said Gornell, who is again expected to start alongside Paul Mullin after scoring three goals in his last four games.

“It’s a Lancashire derby so I’m really looking forward to the game.

“We did all right against Wycombe. To lose the goal in the last minute was a blow.

“This is another massive game like the Luton game because it’s an opportunity to put distance between them and ourselves.

“Like every game we play in this league, we’ll be looking to win.

“We won at Luton, so we know we can do it. We’ve just got to go out there and prove it.”
