TRAVELLING Clarets fans are being warned they must tell police when organising coaches to Chelsea, or risk court action.
Police issued the advice to supporters ahead of the Carling Cup clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, November 12.
They are reminding anyone organising coaches that the company must inform police ahead of the game.
Coach companies have a responsibility to do this and failure to do so could result in legal action being taken.
Detective Constable Shaun Juriansz, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Operation Fixture team, said: “This is an exciting match for Burnley and I’m sure the Clarets will be well supported.
“We are urging travelling fans to make sure they have a ticket and to get their coach company to let us know they are travelling to the match.
“This is so we can ensure the coach company receives the correct instructions from police and so that the police in London know how many coaches to expect.”
He added: “Failure to provide this information could result in court action so if you are booking a coach, please get in touch with us at the earliest opportunity.”
