IF Rossendale had taken even half the chances they made on Saturday at Harrogate, they would have won the match quite comfortably.

Phil Eastwood and Mickey Saunders had good chances but were either wide of the mark or denied by the Harrogate goalkeeper.

But Harrogate’s Ben Jones did hit the post when it seemed easier to score.

Rossendale continued to make chances in the second half but it was inevitable that their inability to convert was going to cost them dear.

And so it proved in the 81st minute when Jones atoned for his earlier miss as he was given a free header in the box from a left-wing corner.
