ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman was left fuming after a controversial late winner denied his side a share of the points.

Stanley were undone by a last-gasp winner by Wycombe’s Chris Zebroski despite the Chairboys man looking well offside in the build-up.

But Coleman felt he had to take his share of the blame for choosing to hold a high line that late in the game.

He said: “I don’t think they deserved to win the game but I have to take full responsibility for the defeat.

“I’m the one who asked them to hold the line that late on.

“Having said that, with the naked eye I’m convinced he was offside.

“He (Zebroski) was the furthest man forward when the keeper kicked the ball out and he’s ended up knocking it past our keeper.

“I told them to hold the line so I have to take the responsibility and I’m man enough to do that. Maybe, in retrospect, we should have just dropped back and headed it away.

“But you think you’re going to get a foul and have a chance to put it back into their box.

“We nearly nicked and had one kicked off the line right at the death.

“But for them to go and score in stoppage time is sickening.

“We were poor in the first half and let them dominate the game. But in the second half we upped a gear and I think we were unlucky not to go and win the game.”
