MICHAEL Duff's goal-saving block ensured a point for Burnley at The Valley this afternoon.
Steven Thompson had given the Clarets an early lead with his first of the season, when his flick from Joey Gudjonsson's 20-yard shot took the ball past Nicky Weaver in the 14th minute.
Charlton were brighter in the second half, after manager Alan Pardew made a double change at the break.
Nevertheless, Burnley continued to create chances, but half-time substitute Svetoslav Todorov got the struggling Addicks back on level terms with just 14 minutes to go.
Duff spared Burnley a late defeat, after Luke Varney had rounded goalkeeper Brian Jensen.
But the Clarets will feel aggrieved that their slender half-time lead wasn't greater, after Martin Paterson controversially had a goal ruled out for offside in the ninth minute.
