CHEEKY Robbie Blake insists his lucky underpants are here to stay after ending his goal drought against Coventry.

The Clarets striker scored his first goal since March on Tuesday night – then dropped his shorts to reveal a fetching, bright red pair of underpants with ‘Bad Beat Bob’ emblazoned across the rear.

And Blake revealed he will be repeating his cheeky gesture for Saturday’s trip to Charlton, although his ‘poker pants’ will stay hidden underneath his shorts after he was booked for his striptease.

Blake said: “A bad beat is when you have a good poker hand that is a clear favourite to win, but is beaten by another hand.

“Every time we play for coppers on the bus to games, I think I am miles ahead and it always turns out that the only card someone needs to beat me, they get!

“When Clarke Carlisle told me he’d got me a present and I had to wear them at Coventry, I said no problem.

“Then he turns up in the changing rooms with these bright red slips with ‘Bad Beat Bob’ on the backside.

“He said ‘if you score, you have to whip them bad boys out’ and what great timing!

“Just when I needed a goal, it happens.

“I’ll have to wear them every week now, but I might have to keep them under wraps or I’ll end up with a suspension!”
