BURNLEY striker Steve Jones has today joined Huddersfield Town on loan.

The 31 year-old Northern Ireland international has linked up with the League One side, managed by former Clarets boss Stan Ternent, for an initial one month period which could be extended.

And boss Owen Coyle admitted the deal was in the best interest of both parties.

"Steve will be joining Huddersfield for a month initially with our best wishes," said Coyle.

"He goes there with the chance to play some games and we'll take it from there."

Jones - who joined from Crewe in the summer of 2006 - has struggled for regular football and is yet to make a first team appearance at Turf Moor this season.

He will remain on loan at the Galpharm Stadium until Tuesday November 25th.
