BACUP Borough will have top-scorer Tommy Turner in their squad to face St Helens after his injured cheekbone was revealed to be not as serious as first thought.

After seeing a facial surgeon, and consulting Chelsea’s medical team, who had a similar problem with John Terry, manager Brent Peters will have Turner available wearing a form of protection over the injury in order to play.

Bacup will also have Sean Roscoe available after signing him from New Mills and may have Rhodri Giggs on board after the former Borough man expressed an interest in returning to West View.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Vodkat Premier Division fixture, Peters said: “Tommy wants to play so we’ll be fitting him with protection to enable him to do that.

“And we’ll need to be at full strength because, even through we’ve beaten them twice already this season, they will have a few players back and they’ll be looking to put the record straight.”

Ryan Marley (groin) is Bacup’s only injury doubt.
