RAMSBOTTOM United boss Andy Feeley is hoping his good friend – Leeds United manager Gary McAllister – can help solve his goalkeeping crisis ahead of tomorrow’s home derby clash with Nelson.

The Rams don’t have a fit keeper on their books following Andy Robertson’s midweek switch to Mossley.

But Feeley has been in touch with former Scotland international McAllister – a team-mate of Feeley during their playing days at Leicester – to land one of Leeds’ youth-team stoppers.

“We’ve got a problem now that Andy has gone,” said Feeley. “But I’ve spoke to Gary McAllister and I’m hoping he can chuck us one of his young goalkeepers for a couple of weeks.

“If he can’t, then I’ve got a couple of irons in the fire.”

Feeley was disappointed to lose the highly-rated Robertson, adding: “It’s a shame, but it was a good offer for him. He’s a fantastic goalkeeper that could play at a much higher level – even in the Football League if he really wanted it and got the right coaching.”

Nelson are looking to hit back after last week’s League Cup loss to Ashton Athletic.
