NEW loan signing Kallum Higginbotham is keen to force his way into the starting line-up for Accrington Stanley’s trip to Luton on Saturday after joining for a month from Rochdale.
The 19-year-old winger, who can also operate up front, has followed Peterborough centre back Kieran Charnock to the club this week on a temporary basis and is likely to be vying with Jimmy Ryan and John Miles for a starting spot.
Higginbotham was one of the rising stars of the Rochdale side that reached last year’s League Two Play-Off Final, scoring in their win at the Fraser Eagle Stadium, but lost his place in the team last month.
The pacy former Oldham trainee said: “I’ve got two days to prove myself to the gaffer and if I do that hopefully I can get a start on Saturday.
“This move has given me a chance to show my manager at Rochdale that I can still do it in this league.”
