NEIL Reynolds insists his rampant Clitheroe side won't take their foot off the gas for tonight's UniBond League Challenge Cup clash with Garforth Town.

The Blues entertain their Yorkshire opponents in irresistible form - having stormed to fifth in UniBond Division One (North) with Saturday's 4-0 romp over Colwyn Bay.

Unbeaten in the league, they are just two points off league leaders Newcastle Blue Star with games in hand.

Tonight's test at Shawbridge provides Reynolds with an ideal opportunity to make wholesale changes, and keep his best players fresh for the weekend.

But with victory in mind, the Blues boss revealed he will select his strongest possible team to avoid a similar fate of three weeks ago, when a weakened Clitheore were dumped out of the UniBond Presidents Cup by Chorley.

"We want to take it seriously against Garforth," said Reynolds. "We want to do well in every competition we are in, and this is no different.

"When we played Chorley, we didn't play our best XI. We made six or seven changes and we weren't at our best. I don't think we will be doing that again."

Reynolds added: "We've got to keep that momentum going. Winning breeds confidence and it's important so we can attract the best players to Clitheroe."
