ROSSENDALE returned to winning ways as Blackburn picked up their first point of the season ahead of their eagerly awaited EDF Energy Intermediate Cup clash on Saturday.
Dale are up to fifth place in North Two West thanks to a gutsy 24-16 victory at Wilmslow – their third win of the season.
Dale ran in three tries with Dennison, Squires and Bramhall while Stirrup kicked three penalties.
Blackburn showed signs that they are turning their season around with a 21-21 draw with in-form Northwich. Two Pienaar kicks and a Peel try gave Burn an 11-7 lead before a converted Northwich try put them 14-11 up.
Pienaar levelled matters with another kick but another try and extras appeared to put Northwich on the road to victory.
But Burn battled back and prop Reay crashed over with Pienaar kicking a touchline conversion.
