PADIHAM 4 ECCLESHALL 1 PADIHAM’S Vodkat League Cup win over Eccleshall has earned them a second-round home tie with local rivals Ramsbottom United on November 8.

Despite having Paul Scott sent off on 35 minutes, Padiham took the lead when Robbie Smith converted a penalty on 42 minutes.

But the lead lasted two mintues as Lee Skellern’s cross was deflected into his own net by Kristian Bowden.

Padiham regained the lead on 62 minutes when Martin Parkes headed in a Fildes corner and they went further ahead on 75 minutes after Alex Hutchinson brought down Robert Grimes.

Grimes’ converted the Storks’ second penalty of the game and Hutchinson was sent off.

The Storks’ winning margin was increased at the death when sub Paul Barratt ran through to score.
