Burnley have sold out their 6,100 ticket allocation for the Carling Cup fourth round clash at Chelsea.

There has been a clamour for tickets since they went on open sale on Monday, more than two weeks ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge on November 12.

A reserve list has now been drafted up for any tickets that are returned to the club, and supporters can contact 0871 221 1914 for more details.

The last 16 tie will be the first meeting between the two clubs since 1983.

But while the engaging tie has whipped up Burnley’s supporters, captain Steven Caldwell insists that, while they will enjoy their big day in West London, the Clarets cannot allow it to detract from their Championship aspirations.

“It’s a glamorous draw and it’s great for the club,” said the 28-year-old.

“It would be great to go there, do really well and somehow get a result, or at least play very well.

“But the bigger picture is that it’s all about winning our league games. The league is our bread and butter.

“In all honesty, we are not going to win the Carling Cup.

"We certainly want to win this tie and get through to the next round, but the chances of beating Chelsea, then Man U, then Liverpool are very slim!

“We are very excited about it, but winning league games is more important.”

Chelsea haven’t lost at home since February 2004, but Owen Coyle is bullish about the size of the task awaiting his players.

He said: “It was well documented that we were looking for a home draw but if you don’t get that you’re after an away draw that’s winnable.

“We've probably drawn the most difficult tie I think you could have gotten with Chelsea away.

"But if I'm a player in that dressing room - what an opportunity to mix it with not just international players but players who can play on the world stage.

"So to get the chance to go and pit your wits some of the very best players in world football, what a night that will be for them.

"But we will not be going to shut up shop. We will go there to try and win a game of football. It's 11 v 11.

"They've got absolute quality, there's no doubt about that but I've been there with St Johnstone against Rangers.

"If we're at our very best and they have an off night then anything can happen.

"We'll be positive and try and play entertaining football and see what happens."
