Tyrhys Dolan says Rovers’ big week was a “confidence booster” for the squad – and is hungry to keep moving forwards.
John Eustace’s men were the underdogs against Middlesbrough and Leeds but went on to take maximum points without conceding.
Dolan is happy to keep going under the radar as long as Rovers can maintain their consistent form heading into the festive period.
“The sky is the limit for us,” he told RoversTV. “We showed how good we actually are when we are all at it, against top teams in the league.
“It is a real confidence booster for us and it is a great time to have a game in hand that could put us into the top six. We just have to keep it going and taking things game by game.
“I don’t mind (going under the radar) because every single weekend we go out there with something to prove.
“We have been the underdogs this season and I think we are sending a message to the league to show that you can’t count us out.”
Dolan earned the penalty which Todd Cantwell stuck away, and the winger is determined to keep making his mark in the final third.
“I was trying to be dangerous. If you are a winger, you want to be getting at the full back and trying to be positive,” he insisted. “I tried to get at my man and it repaid in a penalty.
“I thought it was me (taking it)! I was just happy to create something and help get the three points, that is the main thing.
“I am buzzing for him, he is quality. No ego, he just came in and wanted to find his feet again and you can see that he has done that.
“Credit to the boys, they have made him feel like one and the supporters are all loving him. He is a quality player and a quality person, he has fit in well.
“We bounce off each other well and when we get the chance to link up together, we do and we are on the same wavelength. It is really positive playing with him.”
Next up is a trip to Hull City, who find themselves in the bottom three after a run of five successive defeats.
The Tigers are searching for a new head coach after parting ways with Tim Walter, who took charge at the MKM Stadium in the summer.
“You can’t get carried away and the manager will let us know that,” said Dolan. “You can’t go into the game thinking we have already won it because we know what the Championship is like.
“It is relentless and anyone can beat anyone, but we are going to go there with the same mindset as if we are playing the top of the league. Hopefully, we can stick with the same attitude and get the three points again.”
