John Eustace has hinted Todd Cantwell's best position is as a number 10 but Blackburn Rovers will continue to be flexible with his role.
The 26-year-old initially came into the team as a narrow left-winger but has started the last two Championship games central. That appears to be the position that maximises his strengths.
Tyrhys Dolan has predominantly held that role when he's been available but is also capable of playing off either wing. It's an interesting conundrum for Eustace as he seeks a balance in midfield between creativity and solidity.
"Toddy came in with no fitness because of not playing in pre-season so there's definitely more to come," Eustace said.

"We had to build him in slowly and give him his minutes at the right times. We have played off the left and a 10 and he has top quality.
"I think it depends on the opposition and his defensive duties as to where best to use him. He is a very intelligent footballer so wherever he plays, we have to get him on the ball as often as we can.
"His performances off the left have been good but he has been excellent playing as the number 10. It depends on what we do as a game plan and the opponents too.
"We want to give him a platform to do that week in, week out. I think it's the work of the rest of the players that allows other players to flourish.
"Sondre Tronstad does so much un-seen work which allows others to excel. It is a great effort and putting the pieces of the jigsaw together is the end goal."
On his captain, he added: "It's been about finding the right position for Trav, I have watched him a lot from afar before I arrived.
"I've seen him flourish and we had to find the right place. In the double pivot but where he has the freedom to go forward or stay deeper and help the team build.
"Trav is an outstanding player and I feel like he's improving every game, his confidence is very high. What he gives us without the ball is equally important and he's having a great season.
"I think he'll sit down and still feel like there's more to come and that's the exciting thing."
