Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Aynsley Pears - 9

Made two really important save at 2-0 to keep the lead in tact. First from Willock's curling shot and then a header from Colwill. Then saved the penalty but it dropped back to Turnbull which was very unlucky.

Callum Brittain - 7

Kept Willock and El Ghazi pretty quiet on that side. He's had a good week of performances.

Dom Hyam - 8

Interestingly switched to the right side of the pair. Won lots of headers as Rovers defended their box for their lives in the final 15 minutes.

Danny Batth - 7

A few loose passes but defensively excellent. Used his experience as Rovers were under pressure at the end.

Harry Pickering - 7

Rock solid at left-back, sometimes switching to a third centre-back at times. Has enjoyed a good couple of games back in the team.

Lewis Travis - 9

A brilliant performance from the captain. Had a hand in both goals, particularly the second which he created with a brilliant defence-splitting pass.

Sondre Tronstad - 8

Mopped up well alongside Travis in midfield.

Ryan Hedges - 6

Worked nicely with Pickering down the left again.

Todd Cantwell - 7

Played a key part in the first goal with a nice weighted pass to Travis. Was quite heavily involved first half, less so after the break as he tired.

Andi Weimann - 8

In the right place to finish off two beautifully-crafted goals. Two easy finishes but it's proved the most difficult task in recent matches!

Yuki Ohashi - 7

Ran himself into the ground. Held the ball up really well in the first half with some clever touches.

Substitutes:

Rankin-Costello (Weimann, 60') - 5

Gave away the penalty and took a while to get up to the pace of the match.

Lewis Baker (Hedges, 76') - 7

Took his goal really well to secure the three points. His first for the club.

John Buckley (Cantwell, 76') - 6

Came on to stiffen up the midfield with an extra body.

Makhtar Gueye (Ohashi, 76') - 6

On to lead the line after Ohashi had ran himself into the ground.

Unused substitutes: Toth, McFadzean, Duru, Leonard, Tyjon.
