John Eustace insists Blackburn Rovers must make better decisions in the final third to end their run without scoring.

Sheffield United were comfortable 2-0 winners at Ewood Park on Saturday, inflicting a first home defeat of the season on Rovers.

Goals from Harrison Burrows and Tyrese Campbell in each half secured the win and they could've had more. Kieffer Moore was denied by Aynsley Pears and Dom Hyam on the line.

But what was more of a concern is the toothless nature of performance. Rovers failed to muster a shot on target and could've continued playing until midnight and might not have scored.

That means it's no goals in three games and only two in their last six. Rovers did have some chances, most notably Ryan Hedges at the back post in the first half, but they were few and far between.

"It's disappointing to lose the game against a top, top team," Eustace said.

"I thought in the first half, we held our own, we had some really good opportunities without making the most of them in the final third.

"I thought we competed very well, won the ball back on a lot of opportunities but we lacked quality on those turnovers. It was a lack of quality in the final third and something we have to work on.

"I thought Ryan was going to knock one in the net from my vantage point but I'm not sure if it's taken a deflection off his foot or something. It was good play but we didn't get the finish on the end of it.

"We had some good opportunities without being clinical or finishing the actions off. Second half, we started slow but we had a few opportunities, got going but then they scored.

"I think when they scored the second goal, we lost a bit of belief on the pitch which was disappointing.

"We tried to change a few things around but, unfortunately, it didn't work today."

Addressing the goal drought will be Eustace's top priority this week and beyond. However, he is not overly concerned as he feels the chances are still being created.

It is the decision-making in the final third, in his view, that has to improve.

"I think it was evident that in the first half, we did get in some good areas but failed on that final pass.

"It's something that we have to get better at. Something we have done in the last few games, good opportunities up against a top-quality team so when we get them, we have to make them count.

"I think we're missing that bit of quality, we have to make better decisions in the final third. We are getting into some good positions and opportunities. If I didn't think we were creating or winning the ball in the right areas, I'd be a bit more worried.

"It's just making those correct decisions in the final third which will hopefully turn."
